Dear Journal
This series of posters was made as part of a set of typographic experiments focusing on the five senses, this one being touch. I was interested in the tactility of letterforms, particularly when they are being learned for the first time, and the kinds of messages they are used to create. As a result, I created six posters from my school notebooks, the earliest dating 1992, my 2nd grade year. They illustrate the progression of letterforms as well as insight into what eight-year-olds write when told to just write something.
